My interest in photography goes back rather a few years, as a teenager using a 'Kodak Brownie 127' for family and holiday snaps. When I got in to my 20's I purchased a grey import Zenith E SLR and from this my journey in to camera clubs started. My equipment changed over the years with a Zenith TTL replacing the 'E' model. Then came Cannon AE1 and Cannon A1 with a selection of lens. Along with this I also dipped my toes in to the darkroom printing B&W, Colour prints and slides.
I fell out of the photographic scene for near on 30 years, so when I was about to retire I wanted to get back in to photography. But how things had changed 'DIGITAL' was here and it is a learning curve using all the technology that goes with it. I jumped ship, moving from Cannon to Nikon and purchased a Nikon D3300 with kit lens. I have now got a Nikon D500 and really love holding it in my hand, it feels just right for me and on the plus side it is a decent bit of kit.
I have never been a 'one horse' photographer, I enjoy trying all types of genres and love the challenges of them. I am currently trying out my hand at wildlife and sport, hence the D500. I am taking part in the 365images in 365 days and feel that this challenge is opening my eyes (some may not agree) as I search for the next image.
My inspirations are the members of MCC, I have seen some absolutely fantastic images since joining the club in 2017 and look forward to the day I can take an image where I can sit back and say "yep that's good"
