The judge said before starting, "Clubs please understand, the title of your entries is very important to reflect the images within your panel." The judge spoke highly of our panel photographs quality & skill, having tried wildlife photography himself, although not his genre. He singled out number 1 Lunch for a highly commended, saying it showed speed on Kingfisher wing tips, while sharp detail in the body.

This image of the Kingfisher was taken during a workshop which i attended in Suffolk last year. The idea was to try and catch the kingfisher feeding from the water and take his catch for his little bird family! I was using my Canon 1DX with a 300mm lens with a remote control and a very fast shutter speed so i could freeze the action |
